Food Pairings with Pimms
Our latest hamper to arrive for Summer is the Pimms and Savouries Hamper, filled with delicious savoury snacks and complete with lemonade, ready to serve with your No.1 Pimm's Cup. And with Wimbledon starting this week what better way to enjoy all those strawberries than with a glass of Pimms? Yes, when Wimbledon starts so does a temporary craze with Pimms!
So, how to prepare a refreshing glass of Pimms? It's best served with lemonade together with a chopped fruit of your choice but typically popular with strawberries, cucumber, and orange. Simply add a little mint and ice and you have the perfect Summer cocktail!
Since Pimms is a gin-based drink the perfect food pairing, and our favourite choice, is smoked salmon.

Number 9, Oysters, seems most relevant since Pimm's was created by a shellfish monger in the 1850s. James Pimm owned a small chain of oyster bars in London and created what is now a hugely popular drink because he felt that his clientele deserved something so much better than the usual foul-tasting unrefined gin that everyone was drinking at the time. He blended his secret recipe on his premises and soon it became more famous than his oyster bars.
Pimms is still made today to the same secret recipe, known only to 6 people! It's a blend of herbs and spices with a base of Gordon's Gin.
